Vice Chair Introduction: Srisai Nachuri
Hi everyone!
My name is Srisai Nachuri, and I'm one of your Vice Chairs for Haitian Revolution for BMUN 70! I'm currently a junior at Cal studying Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. I was born and raised in the Bay Area, so studying at Berkeley, I've pretty much been here my whole life. Nevertheless, I've greatly enjoyed my time at Berkeley and have been involved in many communities here including BMUN, research, and teaching. In my free time I enjoy playing basketball with friends, finding new trails to run on, and being in the outdoors. As a high school student, I was very involved with debate, and I truly value the educational value that MUN provides, including research skills and public speaking. This is my third conference chairing, and I'm always amazed by what delegates bring into committee!
For our topic specifically, the Haitian Revolution is fascinating yet often overlooked point in history. There's many complex events and actors involved, and the revolution itself had huge impacts on global policies, the effects of which can still be seen in the modern day. I'm especially excited to be chairing this committee in the crisis format and for the creativity you all will bring conference weekend.
I hope this committee provides a fun, valuable experience and that you all have a memorable conference at BMUN. Best of luck and looking forward to meeting you all in March!
Best,
Srisai
